How to Create an Executive Summary in less than 10-Minutes

Most formal plans that are written and presented for an organization require an “Executive Summary” section at the very beginning. An executive summary is simply an overview of what the corresponding plan details below it.

Example Answer: Roof Replacement, repair, and maintenance

4. Where is your business located / what area does it service?

Example Answer: South Florida

5. What is your business’ MAIN goal with marketing?

Example Answer: Become top rated roofing contractor and gain the market share in Palm Beach

6. Who is your target audience or preferred customer?

Example Answer: homeowners

7. Fill in the blanks in this statement with your previous answers:

1    is a    2     company that specializes in    3    . Our company targets    6     who live in    4  . Our main objective with this marketing plan is to establish how we will reach our target audience while    5    in    4    .

Example Statement: ONEWAY ROOFING is a roofing company that specializes in roof replacement, repair, and maintenance. Our company targets homeowners who live in South Florida. Our main objective with this marketing plan is to establish how we will reach our target audience while building a strong reputation and becoming a top rated roofing contractor in the industry so as to ultimately gain the market share in South Florida.

8. Get specific and add adjectives!

Example Statement with MORE adjectives: ONEWAY ROOFING is a licensed and insured roofing company that specializes in tile, shingle, metal, and flat roof replacement, repair, and maintenance. Our company targets high end residential communities and homeowners who live in Broward, Palm Beach, and Martin Counties of South Florida. Our main objective with this marketing plan is to establish how we will reach our target audience while building a strong reputation and becoming a top rated roofing contractor in the industry so as to ultimately gain the market share in South Florida.

Wasn’t that easy?! I timed myself writing this statement for another company and it took me approximately seven minutes without any planning or deep thought prior to starting. GO AHEAD! Try it!!!!!
